WHAT OUR COLLEAGUES SAY:
The problem sets are what make Ms. Kilgore's text interesting and fun to teach... The extremely well organized mixture of substantive algebra, geometry and graphing problems with a sprinkling of nice examples along with counting and probability never fail to provide a spirited class discussion..."

| This text treats mathematics as a problem solving endeavor. Each problem set includes a wide variety of exercises which explore ideas that have not been formally introduced. For example, students will prove the isosceles triangle theorems before they are formally stated. The text assumes a year's preparation in algebra, and then covers geometry up to similarity, and algebra through quadratic functions. The text has been used extensively in cooperative learning environments. |
